I am a second-year PhD student in the department of Communication at the University of California, Davis.
My advisor is Dr. Magdalena Wojcieszak, and we are working at the Computational Communication (C^2) Lab of UC Davis and the Red Giant Team of the U of Warsaw.
My work primarily focuses on mitigating online harm. I am highly interested in
developing methods and interventions to detect harmful content and to reduce its visibility
examining how social media algorithms systematically recommend harmful or politically biased content to users
understanding how users engage with harmful content online, and how this is linked to algorithmic recommendations
exploring the conditions under which democratic and civil conversations can be achieved, especially in political comment sections.
As a computational social scientist, I use NLP, text analysis, network analysis, ML classifiers, and LLMs to analyze mostly digital trace data. With this background, I present and publish in interdisciplinary venues such as ACM, ACL, and AAAI, while communication remains my core domain.

[Aug.2025] I will be presenting at the UKC by the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA) in Alabama, USA.
[Jul. 2025] My leading project will be presented at the 11th International Conference on Computational Social Science (IC2S2) in Norrköping, Sweden.
[Jun. 2025] I presented at the International AAAI Conference on Web and Social Media (ICWSM) in Copenhagen, Denmark. You can read our proceeding paper here
[May. 2025] I presented at the ACM WebSci'25 PhD symposium at Rutgers University, New Brunswick.

[Sep. 2024] I was invited as a guest speaker to the Computational Multimodal Communication (CMMC) Lab meeting where I spoke about using LLMs for multimodal classification.
[June 2024] I presented two first-author papers at the International Communication Association (ICA) in Political Communication and Computational Methods divisions in Gold Coast, Australia.
[Jun. 2024] I participated in the 2024 ICA Hackathon for Computational Methods in Brisbane, Australia.
[May. 2024] I presented at the 2024 Comm Horizons Conference at UC Davis, California.
[May. 2023] I presented at the Political Communication Graduate Preconference at the International Communication Association (ICA) in Toronto, Canada.
[Jul. 2022] I presented at the Sunbelt conference of the International Network for Social Network (INSNA) in Cairns, Australia.
I love working with passionate undergraduate RAs and mentoring them in research. I have led and trained wonderful RA teams on my first-author projects at UC Davis.
